Miss Rodeo Montana 2017

Sarai McCollaum

Horsemanship, Personality Appearance, Projection & Presentation

Sarai calls the town of Darby home and is the daughter of Scott and Tara Boulanger and Daniel McCollaum. Her four siblings are Titus, Kye, Zachary and Regan.

This 20 year old blond blue eyed beauty graduated in 2014 from Darby High School where she served as Vice President of the student body. An honor roll student and a member of National Honor Society, she also served as a Senate Page during the 2013 State Legislature. A very athletic young lady, Sarai was captain of both her high school track and basketball teams where she lettered consistently. Her school years were also filled with 4-H and Gymkhana activities where she acquired many awards in the Horse and Market Hog projects. Following high school, she attended Bitterroot College.

She currently works as a secretary/sales associate as well as a night waitress and continues as a part time student. When not studying or working she enjoys running the valley trails and fishing the rivers and streams of the Bitterroot Valley. She loves spending time with her red healer Koda and competing on her horse Tuffy. She mentors youth in western riding and speed events. She is a current member of Roots Christian Fellowship and is a Sunday School teacher for ages 5-7. She also loves to practice her culinary skills making her family’s favorite chocolate cake. Sarai’s dream is to become and Occupational Therapist specializing in children with service animals, as well as starting her education in Equine Studies to further blossom her passion for riding horses and learning to use natural horsemanship techniques to accomplish her horse training aspirations.

She is the current 2016 Missoula Stampede Rodeo Queen. She was also the title holder of the 2015 Miss Rockin’ RC Rodeo Queen as well as the 2008 Missoula Stampede Little Miss. She would like to be Miss Rodeo Montana because she has a love for the sport of rodeo that began when she was three and began competing at Junior Rodeos. Rodeo taught her dedication and hard work. She has an innate love of children and would love to serve as a role model and teach them about our western heritage and the sport of rodeo. She would like to be the ultimate ambassador by sharing her knowledge of rodeo with anyone who will listen!
