Shay, as she is known by her friends, enjoys riding and showing American Quarter Horses and Paint Horses. Hunting and spending time in her beautiful backyard, otherwise known as Paradise Valley.

This is certainly not her first pageant. She has a long list of titles and accomplishments including 2008 Park County 4-H Princess, 2011 Southeastern Rodeo Teen Queen, 2012 Southwest Montana Pro Rodeo Junior Queen and 2016 Miss Livingston Roundup. In addition she was 2014 Miss Teen Rodeo First Runner-up, and 2016 Royal Review Rodeo Queen Jackpot Miss All Around Cowgirl! To keep her skills sharp she has enjoyed becoming involved with the Last Word Toastmasters Club, where she has received honors both locally and regionally. When asked why she would like to become Miss Rodeo Montana 2017 she explained that throughout her different queen titles and various arena roles, she has gotten to see the amazing things the sport of rodeo can do. It can bring communities together to fight cancer, domestic violence and drug abuse. The sport also brings people from all over the world just to spectate. That is what she wants to advocate for: the greatness that this sport brings to not only fans and competitors, but to the communities that host the rodeos. She wants to be Miss Rodeo Montana so she could encourage, with her crown as Miss Rodeo Montana, rodeos to host other events such as Montana Meth Nights and Man Up Crusades. She would like to help raise awareness of issues prevalent in our society.
