21 Jun Mariah (Rys-Sikora) Gibson

Mariah is the 20 year old daughter of Adam and Anne Rys-Sikora and sister to 17 year old Cameron. She has called Missoula, Montana her home all her life and graduated from Loyola Sacred Heart High School in 2009. Mariah began high school rodeo as a freshman and is still competing in rodeos as a proud member of the University of Montana Rodeo Team. She loves traveling to rodeos with friends, listening to country music, and writing about her own experiences. Mariah’s major is Communication Studies and she plans to graduate in May of 2013.

Mariah is a member of the UM Griz rodeo Team competing in goat tying, barrel racing and breakaway roping. Mariah was selected as the 2012 Outstanding Team Member for her dedication to her teammates, practice, promoting the sport of rodeo as Miss Rodeo Montana, scoring the most points on the team and her positive attitude.

Upon graduation, Mariah hopes to get a job connected with rodeo and, eventually, teach high school English and history. She spends what free time she has with her horses, friends and writing about her year as Miss Rodeo Montana.
